Privacy Policy

Focal Sites LLC ("Focal Sites," "we," "us") is a software engineering company registered in Tennessee, at 620 W Due West Ave, Madison, TN 37115. This policy covers focalsites.com and its subdomains, including our demonstration sites. Reach us any time at info@focalsites.com.

When you submit a form on this site — the contact form, a project brief, or a support request — we collect what you enter. Typically your name, your email, your company or website if you tell us, what you're asking for, and any files you attach.

We ask for the minimum we need to reply and understand what you need. Every field on our forms exists because we can't help you without it.

For analytics we use Plausible, which is privacy-focused and cookieless. It records aggregate information only — pages viewed, referring site, country (derived from an IP address that is not stored), and device type. This data cannot be tied to you: there is no cookie, no persistent identifier, and no tracking across websites.

When you email us or reply to one of our emails, we receive and retain that correspondence, as any business does.

Stated plainly because it's unusual enough to be worth saying:

• No cookies — not for analytics, advertising, or anything. That's why you've never seen a cookie banner here.
• No advertising or marketing trackers. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no ad networks.
• No cross-site tracking. We don't know what you did before you arrived or after you left.
• No profiling or automated decisions about you.
• No sale of personal information — ever, with no plans to change that.
• No sensitive information. We don't ask for health, biometric, financial, or precise-location data. Please don't send it.

We do not send marketing email to people who haven't asked for it. Our newsletter is opt-in and separate: you subscribe deliberately, confirm by email (double opt-in), and can unsubscribe from any message with one click. We keep it infrequent.

We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only to the extent they need it:

We may also disclose information if legally required — a court order, subpoena, or lawful law-enforcement demand — or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim. If we're ever part of a merger or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that, and we'll tell you before it happens.

• Enquiries that don't become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted
• Client project records: the duration of the engagement plus 7 years, for tax and legal purposes
• Support correspondence: up to 24 months after a request is resolved
• Analytics: aggregate only, retained indefinitely — it isn't linked to you

Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless we're required to keep it.

Whatever state you're in, and regardless of which privacy laws technically apply to a company our size, we will honour these: to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct what's wrong, to delete it (unless we're legally required to keep it), and to opt out of any communications.

Email info@focalsites.com. We'll respond within 45 days, usually much sooner, and we won't charge you or treat you differently for asking. If we decline a request, we'll tell you why.

We take reasonable measures: everything is served over HTTPS, access to client information is limited to people who need it, and we choose providers partly on their security posture. We don't store payment card details. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise — if a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by Tennessee law.

This site isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email info@focalsites.com and we'll delete it.

We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll say so clearly rather than quietly editing the page.
